Selected Products for CO2 Systems
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is added to water to form carbonic acid. It is used in water treatment to suppress pH. Common applications for pH suppression include control of bromates in ozone plants, dampening the variations in raw water pH, readjusting pH after alkalinity addition, to assist is advanced coagulation, and to improve arsenic removal efficiencies. Carbon dioxide systems include an insulated temperature controlled storage tank, feed panel, and diffuser. CO2 can be injected into water as a gas, but is more commonly injected as carbonic acid from a carrier water line. Carbonic acid feed systems are more efficient and require less reaction time than gas feed systems. Therefore, they offer better control and precision of the final pH. Carbon dioxides systems are a safe and reliable alternative to sulfuric acid.
