Water
The treatment and purification of water is vital to the overall health and well being of a society. Drinking water can come from many sources including above ground supplies, lakes, rivers, etc, below ground supplies, aquifers, or the ocean. Each source of water requires a different treatment scheme to meet the federal and state regulations that govern our potable water. Water quality regulations address both organic and inorganic contaminants, and can involve multiple barriers / layers of physical and chemical processes to meet the guidelines as outlined by the EPA and the Dept. of Public Health.
